Just a clarification or something!

Say you make a character, delete it, and then later try /say [Character] in-game, what's the notification that pops up? I'm just slightly confused about that.

I know that if the character exists/name is currently taken, it will say "That player is not connected."

If that name is available (?) it says "[Name] does not exist." So, do you get this same notification if it's a deleted name that still can't be used or if its an entirely different notification?
